Children are expected to read their books at least three times a week. But every night is encouraged. We love to share our favourite books together! Two children are chosen to be readers of the week each week and this is something we love to celebrate.

Rewards in Year 3

Children can earn Dojo’s for good behaviour, hard work and displaying the virtue. Each week, the dojo’s collected will be counted and converted into minutes. This allows children to work together to receive a lovely Dojo treat every half term.

Star of the Week!

Each week, a child is chosen from each year 3 class to be the star of the week. This is awarded for hard work, good behaviour and being a good role model to others.

Homework is given out on a Friday and handed in on a Wednesday. Spellings do not need to be handed in, children will have a separate sheet for their tray to practice at school. Maths and Comprehension is compulsory and topic homework is optional.

Wednesday Word homework is given out on a Wednesday and is to be handed in the following Wednesday.

P.E

Indoor P.E – Tuesday

Outdoor P.E – Wednesday

After Christmas, children begin swimming lessons every Tuesday afternoon.

Children are expected to wear the School’s Standard P.E. Kit.
Plain RED round neck T-shirt with school logo.

Plain BLACK shorts.
BLACK pumps.

In addition: Only during winter weather
Boys and girls may wear a tracksuit for outdoor lessons only. We recommend a plain dark pair of jogging bottoms and sweatshirt top or a tracksuit and underneath they wear their school RED PE top. These must be plain, no designer logos, football tops etc. Depending on the activity depends on whether children also require trainers.
