A School of Sanctuary:
-
is a place that fosters a culture of welcome and safety for people seeking sanctuary, including asylum seeking and refugee families.
-
educates the whole school community about the human right to sanctuary and identifies practical means for schools to demonstrate that commitment.
-
builds empathy and intercultural awareness through promoting the voices and contributions of people seeking sanctuary, encouraging an understanding of the experiences of displaced people and helping to combat stereotypes.

Refugee Week Assembly
Refugee Week 2023 - Theme "Compassion"
Year 5 have been very reflective this week throughout Refugee Week. We began the week with a wonderful workshop at the Core Theatre in Solihull; the children took part in dance and visual art workshops sharing their amazing talents. They were then treated to a performance by a theatre group which was very exciting! Throughout the week we have been praying for those on difficult journeys and for those who are still facing difficult journeys; we are sending them love and prayers.
