Building the Kingdom

What is Building the Kingdom?

At Saint Anne’s, we are proudly building the Kingdom of God by placing Gospel values at the heart of all we do. Through the Building the Kingdom framework, we help our pupils grow not just academically, but spiritually and morally. Inspired by Catholic Social Teaching, we explore themes such as human dignity, justice, compassion, and stewardship, encouraging every child to become a thoughtful, active citizen. At Saint Anne’s, we are nurturing a generation ready to live out their faith and help shape a more loving, just, and hope-filled world.

Our Prayer for Building the Kingdom

How are we Building the Kingdom of God and why is this important?

At Saint Anne’s, Building the Kingdom is central to our whole-school approach. We believe that education is not just about knowledge, but about forming compassionate, thoughtful, and active individuals who live out Gospel values in everyday life. This vision is reflected in our curriculum, which is shaped around enquiry-based learning.

Each unit of learning begins and ends by focusing on a ‘big question’ that encourages pupils to think deeply, make connections, and develop a sense of wonder about the world. These questions inspire curiosity and invite pupils to use their God-given talents to explore, solve problems, and reflect on their place in the world. Whether through science, history, art, or maths, children are challenged to consider ethical issues, social justice, and the role they can play in building a better future.

Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is embedded across all areas of learning. Through themes such as human dignity, care for creation, the common good, and solidarity, pupils are encouraged to reflect on how their learning can be used to make a difference. This helps them move from classroom learning to real-life action — becoming active citizens who live out their faith in practical and meaningful ways.

By placing Building the Kingdom at the heart of our curriculum, we help our children grow academically, spiritually, and morally — shaping them into the people God is calling them to be.
